Continuing in the spirit of the last seven meetings organized by the ISI Committee on Risk Analysis (ISI-CRA) of the International Statistical Institute (ISI) this year’s conference focuses on Risk Analysis and Experimental Design and it is devoted to the Distinguished Professor Samad Hedayat from UIC-USA.

The Center of Experimental Design of the Institute of Applied Statistics and Computing at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences in Vienna, Austria - will host ICRA8 at Exnerhaus (Peter-Jordan-Str. 82, 1190 Vienna, Austria).

The ICRA conferences are organized every two years by the ISI Committee on Risk Analysis (ISI-CRA), one of the nine Special Interest Groups of the ISI https://isi-web.org/index.php/news-from-isi/126-isi-committee-on-risk-analysis.

The Committee is in charge of improving and expanding the role of statistics in Risk Analysis, by addressing theory, methodology and applications that cover the broad scope of risk assessment, including management in life sciences and public health, sciences of the environment and behaviour, economics and finance, industrial risks, adversarial risks and issues of societal security. Experimental Design is a branch of Statistics playing a Key role in all these areas and thus a meeting joining Risk Analysis and Experimental Design Topics is therefore justified by facing the challenges in the 21th Century and providing tools that look for to avoid the perils inherent to a dynamic future.

The format of the conference includes keynote lectures presented by world-renowned scientists, plenary talks, invited sessions, thematic sessions and sessions with contributed talks and posters. Students are encouraged to enter a poster competition and present their projects to conference attendees. A Cocktail Reception will be held on Wednesday, April 24th in the Viennese city hall and will feature a mayor's welcome and live entertainment. The conference provides opportunities for the participants to exchange ideas and discuss new theoretical and practical issues in their fields face to face, to establish new collaborations and to contact global partners and research centers leaders for future collaborations.

Selected papers will be published in a special volume of "Springer Series Contributions to Statistics" and extended versions of the best papers will be selected for publication in special issues of several ISI and Scopus-indexed journals (Guidelines on the submission of scientific papers).

We will spend every effort and be pleased to generate a unique atmosphere where you can kindly share your knowledge, expertise, and experiences with your colleagues.
